As most of you may know or have known.. I went to a July 4th celebration this past weekend up north from my hometown. It was fun but very hot and sweaty. I was asked to take some pictures. Not the best in the world but Hey I guess its a start.

P.S. Questions will not be answered about the photos due to me not having a clue what I took a picture of. Just a bunch of statues :D

I know its Buddha lol xD

I don't read Chinese philosophy. My ancestry is more affiliated with Laotian beliefs. I'm not Chinese.

If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.

First pic might be a statue of the Hindu god Shiva. The representation of Shiva differs alot, sometimes with one face, sometimes with multiple faces, and with an uncertain amount of arms equipped with all sorts of religious (?) gear.

Shiva likes having a good time:

@miro you are right. Shiva belongs to India but on the other had.. Gautama Buddha belongs to Laos, Thailand, Veitnam, Cambodia, etc.

They look alike in appearance but they are clearly different gods.

Gautama Buddha

Shiva

Gautama Buddha is like a normal human. He doesn't have numerous arms like Shiva does. He also considered it bad luck to touch a female.

I hope these pictures helped you guys see the difference in the two.

there is a picture of Shiva there. Just click the name. For some reason that picture isn't showing up.

Should be an automatism of the forum script, maybe because the picture is too big, so it would ruin the layout of the page.

If you link to external images though, it's sudden death for the aesthetics of the forum, if these pics are huge. ;)

But even this theory doesn't make sense...it could easily be displayed with different size. *scratching head*
